So for a long time I’ve wanted to be a hardware engineer. But when I look at the pay diff compared to software engineers, they get paid almost 60% it feels.
Any hardware engineers who regret going down that route?
I know a handful of friends that ended up switching from Hardware to Software.
The ones that stay are often at companies like Apple or other name brands that are doing something cool. I think the biggest complaint I’ve heard is that knowledge isn’t really transferrable, and dev cycles take a while.
